Getting Started

Starting something new can feel daunting—but the process of beginning personal training is designed to be simple, supportive, and structured.

If you’ve never worked with a personal trainer before, you’re not alone—and there’s no need to feel intimidated. Many of my clients are at the very beginning of their fitness journey, or are returning after time away. My job is to meet you exactly where you are, guide you through each step, and help you progress in a way that feels both achievable and motivating.

Below is a step-by-step outline of what to expect along the way.

Step 1: Pick your package

I offer three types of Personal Training services depending on your needs, location and budget. See more details on the packages and approximate pricing here. All programmes last for 12 weeks to allow reasonable time to progress towards your goals and vision.

Step 2: Vision & Goal setting session

Let’s take time to reflect on your fitness vision and goals. This is a fundamental step in my approach as we will learn about your ‘why’ and set a purpose for your programme. We will also discuss what inspires you in your fitness journey, as well as any challenges you’ve faced in the past.

Step 3: Fitness assessments

We will do a brief fitness assessment so I can tailor your programme to your current level. The exercises will be simple and there is nothing to be worried about!

Step 4: Receive your programme

You will receive a sneak peek of your programme in the Hevy app, including your 1-1 sessions and home workouts.

Step 5: Let’s go!

Time to start your new programme! You are free to WhatsApp me for any questions or support needed during your programme. I am here to motivate you and hold you accountable!

Step 6: Monthly check-ins

Each month we will discuss your progress towards your goals and feedback, and make adjustments to your programme. Consistency is the key to success, and we should ensure your programme suits your current reality. We will also discuss any next steps in your nutrition and wider lifestyle.

Step 7: Assessment and looking ahead

At the end of your 12-week block, we will do a small (and fun!) assessment to benchmark your improvement! We will revisit your vision and discuss what’s next in your fitness journey. Then, hopefully, if you'd like to continue training together, we will set some fresh goals and you’ll receive a discount for your next programme.

I’m in my 50s or 60s and want to stay strong and healthy—am I too old to start?

You’re never too old to get stronger. I offer personal training for women preparing for healthy ageing, helping you build muscle, improve balance and coordination, and stay active for years to come. Many of my clients start in their 50s or beyond and are amazed at how quickly they feel more confident and resilient.

Do you offer online or hybrid sessions?

Can you help me to set my fitness goals?

Yes! Goal-setting is a key part of our journey together. During our vision and goals meeting, we’ll explore what’s important to you—whether that’s weight loss, improving cardiovascular endurance, getting stronger for a 5k, or just feeling like a stronger mum. I’ll help you define realistic, measurable goals and create a clear path to get there.
